Fundraiser Boat Cruise a Great Success!

Last Friday, June 15, Heart to Heart Africa teamed with the Georgian Queen and ELM Catering to offer a fundraising dinner cruise through the picturesque 30,000 islands of Georgian Bay. Leaving from the Penetang town dock, guests were showered with sunshine, a warm breeze, and calm waters. A perfect evening for a cruise.

Shortly after departing, a fabulous dinner was served by the friendly staff of ELM Catering, with the owner, Larry Lalonde at the carving station. Guests enjoyed their fill of tasty, homemade salads, beef, chicken, and potatoes, followed by yummy homemade desserts. We heard many compliments from guests!

Excitement and generosity were in the air as guests bid on silent auction items, browsed the raffle table, and bought 50/50 tickets. Lots of fun was had by all, and our 50/50 winner decided to donate her winnings back to Heart to Heart Africa. Thanks so much Vonda! Silent auction items were a hit once again, and a big thank you goes out to all those local businesses and individuals that donated items for this worthy cause.

Throughout the evening supporters were entertained by local musicians, Kristy Freund, Heath Canyon, and Justin Brodeur. Each musicians brough their unique style to the stage as they played and sang for guests. They teamed up for a special rendition of the Heart to Heart song.

This cruise was a success due to the support of local businesses, tireless volunteers, and of course, fun-loving, guests-both local and from out of town. Thank you to everyone who made this event happen!

We are looking forward to our next event which is family centered. On Friday, June 29th, the Midland Drive-in is pairing with Heart to Heart Africa. Check the blog for details and tickets.
